Motorcycle Mania
Interaction's first motorcycle ride of 1999 was exhilarating, no doubt due in part to temperatures in the 70's, low humidity, and clear skies. With some last minute cancellations and additions, we ended up with four drivers and four riders. We traveled to Hueston Woods, ate lunch at the lodge, and toured the park.
It was so much fun we instantly decided to do it again. Meet Sat., August 14th at 11 am at the Christopher Club parking lot (with Sunday as the raindate). We are considering several destinations, but most likely will go some place where we can hike, lunch, and maybe even swim!
Both drivers and passengers are welcome. We'll try to keep one-way travel time around one hour for those who have not yet developed motorcycler's tush.
If you have a motorcycle and would like to drive, or do not and are interested in riding shotgun on another bike, sign up with Don at 429-5595. If there are more riders than drivers, riders will be selected by date of registration.
Canoe Trip
It's truly a summertime leisure activity, slowly floating down the river in a canoe. Enjoying the outdoors, hearing the occasional fish jump in the water, and maybe even getting a chance to splash a friend with water as their canoe drifts along with yours.
Ah Yes! The Interaction Canoe trip is once again on the schedule for August. This years trip will take place on the 28th, which is a Saturday and starts at 1 PM at the Bellbrook Canoe Rental. Located at 3234 Washington Mill Rd., in Bellbrook, the facility is situated along the banks of the Little Miami River in Greene County. If you have any questions about the canoes, types of trips (there are 3 different trips listed by length of time on the river) or costs please call the canoe rental at 848-4812. The cost of this particular trip is estimated at around $10 to $12 dollars per person.
There will also be a "covered dish" picnic after the trip around 4 PM. Reservations are requested, and you can either call Chuck Gelm at 294-2113, sign up at the church on Friday evenings, or even email your reservations at canoetrip@groupia.org. Hope to see you on the river!

Applying The Enneagram
This discussion group has a practical purpose: learning about yourself and others, using the enneagram model of human personality. Participants are asked to read about the enneagram, in preparation for applying its principles to people's interactions. You don't have to read a book to participate in this group but, when you realize how "on target" this system can be and how much fun it can be to learn, you'll want to know more. Recommended introductory reading: The Enneagram Made Easy - Cartoons and comedy make this an enjoyable text and a convenient quick reference. The Enneagram:
Understanding Yourself and Others - Most people can recognize their own type by reading the first-person descriptions contained in this book. The Enneagram In Love and Work - How the enneagram types relate romantically and professionally. A practical guide. Join us in September on the 10th for a discussion on this topic.

Women's Group Simple Abundance
Summer's lease hath all too short a date." - William Shakespeare. When it's 100 degrees in the shade, it's too hot to be anything but receptive and reflective. Let a seasonally sanctioned sojourn of slow joys refill the authentic reservoir of creative energy. This month on the Simple Abundance path we commit to discovering, acknowledging, appreciation, owning and honoring our authentic gifts, transforming not only our own lives, but the lives of those we love.
In July's group, we pondered the importance of pursuing our dreams without preconceived attached expectations. This exquisite book and the group participants gave us much wisdom and support to envision and create our authentic dreams.
The Simple Abundance group for women is based on Sarah Ban Breathnach's book. This book outlines the six principles of Gratitude, Simplicity, Order, Harmony, Beauty and Joy as well as gives invaluable wisdom for quality of everyday living. This is a monthly women's group, however, you need not have attended the previous groups to join in.

Ladies Book Club
Attention all ladies who have always wanted to participate in a book club. We had a great discussion during our last meeting on July 30th. Our next book club meeting will be on October 29th and the current book we are reading is "At Home In Mitford" (Penguin Books, $12.95). by Jan Karon. This book was suggested by Toni Barley and is the first in a series of five books. Toni feels these are the best books that she has ever read and that they hold something for everyone. This book has been out long enough, that you will probably be able to pick it up at the library. So lose yourself in a book this summer and join us on October 29th. We hope to provide an interesting, fun discussion in which we can share our own insights. We plan to meet on the fifth Friday of those months that have 5 Fridays (October 29th). If you have any questions, contact Melanie at 294-1353.
